Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says his team will work hard for positive results as they continue to build their squad.

Zwane was given the club’s public backing ahead of the Soweto Derby and it paid off as his side beat Orlando Pirates 1-0.

The commitment and faith shown in him wasn’t part of the success but rather that all parties know the team is still being built under Zwane’s leadership.

‘We’re fixing ourselves’ – Zwane

“We’re trying to get the team going and need some chemistry, tactical understanding to improve, so we focus more on grinding results now while we’re fixing ourselves – trying to improve our game,” Zwane told iDiski Times.

Chiefs are now level on 31 points with their next opponents, Richards Bay, and Pirates after the weekend.

Zwane set out a few key reasons for the form guide of late but is confident that the plans are good for the long term.

“The club has a plan, and we know that when you start something, at some point, you will go through some rough patches, it’s part of the game because you’re trying to lay a strong foundation,” Zwane said.

Good foundations being laid

“That foundation obviously helps us now to bring in players that can easily fit in our way of playing. So injuries did not, you know help us. With too many injuries, we lost key players in very important games and what’s key is to focus and keep on working on that plan,” added Zwane.
