Blink and you would have missed it.  A pitch invader, wearing a Springboks jersey and a pair of jeans (not to be confused with Jean’s pants) took to the field during the Boks’ victory over Samoa on Saturday. At the post-match press conference, Victor Matfield expressed his disappointment, saying:

“We are a proud nation … proud of what we stand for. So it is always a pity when you see that; guys coming onto the field. You can’t blame all the fans – it’s one bloke who did a stupid thing. Normally our fans are fantastic … they stay off the pitch and support the team in the right way.”

The TV cameras immediately panned away, but there were a few bemused expressions on the Bok bench. Here are some pictures from the incident.
