Cheslin Kolbe was a key member of the victorious South African squad at the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cup tournaments held, and last year made the move from France to join Japan Rugby League One’s Tokyo Suntory Sungoliath for this season.

It’s a move that has clearly opened up new doors for the Springbok superstar, who has formed a partnership with a Japan-based golf company, Value Golf, with a statement revealing that they “aim to support Kolbe’s activities in Japan and promote projects that contribute to society”.

In June of last year, Japanese club Suntory Sungoliath confirmed the signing of Kolbe for the 2023-24 season.

Commenting on his move, Kolbe – who is represented by world renowned agency Roc Nation Sports International – said he was ready for this new chapter in his life.

“This is going to be a new chapter and challenge in my career, and I’d like to thank everyone who made the move possible.

“Suntory is a team with an impressive history, and I am looking forward to making new memories with the team over the seasons ahead. To the fans, I hope to put in some performance that you can all enjoy,” Kolbe added.
