However, KickOff has revealed that Matlaba, a former Bucs skipper, is yet to ink a deal with Chippa.
The other player, Morrison, has taken it upon himself to deny the move down to the Bay, labelling the announcement from the club as “fake news”.
The Ghanian forward, however, confirmed that he is no longer an Orlando Pirates player as he took to Instagram in an attempt to clear up the confusion over the reported move to Chippa.
Orlando Pirates kick off their campaign in the 2018/19 PSL season at home to newly-promoted side, Highlands Park on Saturday, 4 August, while Chippa travel to the Free State to take on Bloemfontein Celtic the following day.
The two sides then clash in a midweek encounter at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday night.
