Reminder: Here are the SASSA payment dates for April, 2024

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is responsible for South Africa’s social grant payments. It pays more than 18 million grant recipients each month, including the SRD Grant, Disability Grant, Child (and Foster Child) Grant.

We’ve got the important grant changes for April covered, including when each social grant pays you.

Here’s all the important information about April’s social grants.

Your SASSA and April

Approved social grants will pay out on the mentioned dates.

Rejected social grants require reapplication. You should send a complaint (in writing) if your social grant has been rejected – and you believe that this has been an error.

Knowing your payment date makes collection and budgeting easier.

Make sure you’ve checked your grant date before going to town.

Reminder: SASSA payment dates for April, 2024

Here are the next social grant payment dates, according to the South African Social Security Agency:

• Older Persons (Pensioners) Grants pay on: 3 April, 2024.
• Disability Grants will pay out on the next day: 4 April, 2024.
• Childcare, Foster Child, and In-Aid Grants will pay on the 5 April, 2024.

Other grants, like the R350 SRD Grant, will pay out later the same month.

How to get your SASSA grant

Social help is granted to all citizens.

Get your SASSA grant by passing a Means Test. You will recieve the appropriate grant if you qualify.

Child (and Foster) Grants, Disability Grants, and SRD Grants are some of the available social grants.

Reminder: SASSA Postbank payments and you

The Social Security Agency is phasing out Postbank payments in April.

You can apply to have your grant paid into a nominated bank account. Contact them to list the correct details.

Boxer, PNP, Spar, and leading retailers can still help you with grant collection.

Gold cards are still valid

Gold cards stay valid through 2024.

Despite contrary announcements last year, social grant cards stay valid and usable.
