The ANC has, yet again, found itself having to answer for its thoughtless actions. This comes after people were outraged by the sight of Zizi Kodwa and Danny jordaan on its campaign trail in Johannesburg.

As reported by EWN, the party’s spokesperson recently stepped down from his role after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman.

A letter was sent to Luthuli House by the alleged victim of Kodwa. In it, the alleged victim detailed the horror she endured from the ANC spokesperson.

“At the outset, I deny these accusations with the contempt they deserve. I refuse to succumb to extortion and blackmail. Most importantly, I refuse to bow down to dirty tricks.

“I wish to expose and condemn this feeble yet dangerous attempt at political blackmail and manipulation, ” was Kodwa’s response to the damning allegations.

According to the ANC’s secretary-general, Kodwa and Pule Mabe (another official accused of sexual assault) had happily stepped down from their roles.

Yet, on the recent ANC campaign that stopped by in Johannesburg, Kodwa was seen on stage singing praise and moving crowds with President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Moreover, Jordaan too, the president of the South African Football Association (Safa), was seen pushing the agenda for the ANC’s electioneering.

He too has a history of sexual assault allegations. The party’s inability to deal with the issue of sexual assault has caused a row among its supporters.

Was Ramaphosa’s stance on women abuse clear?

Ranaphosa, at a campaign rally at Inanda, in Durban, described violence purported against women as a national crisis.

It is hard to imagine how the sight of him next to Kodwa and Jordaan has assured women that he is empathetic towards their plight.
