Wimpy waitress in Gauteng turned a hero when she sprung into action and saved a lifeon Sunday, 19 March.

According to IOL, Olga Fakude, 53, from Pretoria was getting ready for the morning breakfast rush at the Wimpy in Mayville Mall, Pretoria when she saved the life of a child under the age of six.

While working, Fakude noticed the child choking on her food while eating her breakfast.

WAITRESS USED HER FIRST AID SKILLS

She used skills she learned from a first aid course she had done a few years prior.

She started doing abdominal thrusts which enabled the child to cough up the food lodged in her throat.

After what probably felt like the longest few seconds for the parents seated at the table, the little girl started breathing normally again and her parents sighed with relief.

Fakude said she was heppy to help.

“I was very happy I was able to help because I love children,” Briefly quoted Fakude as saying.

The childs parents also expressed their gratitiude to the mother of two.

Olga’s manager, Portia Zulu, also said she was proud of Olga’s heroic act. In addition, Portia thanked the waitress for how well she handled the situation.
