Police are investigating a robbery at a property in Sunninghill, Johannesburg on Monday. after the shocking footage was uploaded to Twitter earlier this afternoon. Two crooks mugged a man who had just stepped out of his home, taking his possessions within seconds.
Johannesburg man stays calm after robbery outside home
The video footage is purportedly from Monday 22 March. Just after midday, two occupants of a red vehicle emerge from behind a tree, shortly after the older gentleman walks out of his gate. As he starts to lock-up the property, the pair of thugs approach their victim, bearing down on him menacingly.
With some form of weapon to hand, the criminals brandish their tools in view of the target. He complies with the instructions and doesn’t resist, as the robbers take what they came for. Sure enough, they hop back in the car and speed away. The bemused man then walks to the back of his property, disappearing from shot.

Despite the frustration this victim must be feeling, his decision to react passively could well be a life-saving one. Time and time again, we’ve seen have-a-go heroes taken down by vicious crooks – and an annoying phone call to your insurance company is still a lot better than fighting for your life in a hospital bed.
