A cold front with light rain is expected in parts of South Africa TONIGHT.
THE COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL TONIGHT
According to VoxWeather the cold front is expected to reach the Western Cape on Tuesday evening to bring a few light showers to the coastal areas.
“After a sunny start, a few isolated thunderstorms are likely stretching from the Nothern Cape, Western North West over parts of the Free State and into parts of the Eastern Cape.”

It furthermore indicated that the cold front is most likely to weaken quickly.

Meanwhile, a level 1 warning was issued for severe thunderstorms in the following areas for Tuesday afternoon:

- Senqu / Barkly East
- Mhlontlo / Tsolo
- Enoch Magijima – Tarkastad / Tarkastad
- Emalahleni / Lady Frere
- Engcobo / Ncobo
- King Sabata Dalindyebo / Mthatha
- Great Kei / Komga
- Mnquma / Butterworth
‘HAIL, STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS COULD ACCOMPANY THUNDERSTORM’
The SA Weather Service (SAWS) warned that any combination of hail, strong winds, and/or heavy downpours could accompany the storms.

“Localised damage to infrastructure, settlements, property, vehicles, livelihood and livestock is possible.
“Heavy downpours may result in flash flooding in areas where the ground is already saturated. Minor vehicle accidents may be possible. Localised service disruption due to power surges/disruptions as well as cause danger to life (humans and livestock).”
SAWS
The SAWS warned the public to stay indoors and away from metal objects.
“Do not seek shelter under trees or tall objects. Do not go fishing or play golf, as both the golf clubs and fishing rods are good conductors of electricity.”
