This Gogo, who is clearly an adrenaline junkie, has just proven to the world that the need for speed does not have an age limit.

A video of a 79-year-old granny taking delivery of a brand new Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI has gone viral.

THIS TIKTOK VIDEO HAS GONE VIRAL

A salesperson at Hatfield Volkswagen Rivonia shared the short clip showing the proud granny accepting the key to a Deep Black Pearlescent Golf GTI.

This Golf GT, which is a 180kW/370Nm hot hatch, can reach 100km/h in a claimed 6.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 249km/h.

THIS IS HER FIFTH GOLF GTI

According to the salesperson, this is her fifth Golf GTI, and this Gogo has owned Volkswagen vehicles for 50 years.

South Africans loved the video clip, and by Sunday morning, it had been watched more than 355.9k times.

Get your popcorn ready for the hilarious comments on the video, with some asking if she is single and wanting another grandson while another urged the Gogo to drive it like stole it.

The eighth-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI arrived in South Africa last year in January.

The manufacturer last year said the vehicle is its most anticipated launch in 2021 and South Africa is one of the largest Golf GTI markets outside of Europe, which does not come as a surprise.

The Golf 7 GTI has sold more than 14 000 units since it came to the country in July 2013 and according to the manufacturer, the vehicle was also the best-selling model range in the A Hatch segment in South Africa last year, capturing 29.1% of the segment share.

According to Motor1the eighth generation Golf GTI comes with a turbocharged 2.0 litre i4 engine capable of producing 245 horsepower and hitting (an electronically limited) top speed of 249 km/h.
