The SAWS warned that winds of up to 65km/h are expected in parts of South Africa on Monday. These areas will be affected.

A warning was issued for winds of up to 65km/h expected in parts of SA on Monday.
According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS), near gale force south-easterly winds (55-65km/h) are expected between Gansbaai and Alexander Bay from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning.
“It will contribute to rough and choppy sea conditions, especially in False Bay, contributing to difficult driving conditions.”
The SAWS issued a level 2 warning for these conditions.
It furthermore warned of difficulty in navigation at sea as well as small vessels and personal watercrafts (e.g. kayaks) at risk of taking on water and capsizing in locality is expected.
“There is also a possibility of the build-up of sand on coastal routes in False Bay, especially the R310 (Baden Powell Drive).
“Be aware of large, unpredictable waves along the coast. Small vessels are advised to seek shelter in harbours, bays, or inlets. Motorists should take extra caution when driving along coastal routes, especially in False Bay, since the build-up of sand is possible.”
