The popular communication app WhatsApp is constantly changing with updates for both iOS and Android users.

TWO BIG CHANGES ARE COMING THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW OF

Two BIG changes are coming that you should know of.

WhatsApp remains one of the most popular texting apps in South Africa, with family groups, community groups, and more all having a place to discuss and share information.

According to WhatsApp data service, WABetaInfo, two of the big changes of the upcoming WhatsApp updates include 21 new emojis for the keyboard and a new approval feature for group chat admins.

THE NEW EMOJIS ARE BEING TESTED

According to Wabetainfo, a site that tracks all the developments in WhatsApp revealed that the platform is testing 21 new emojis for its Android beta users.

With the new batch of emojis, users will not have to look for a separate keyboard to send these emojis in the chat.

A BIG FEATURE WILL GIVE GROUP ADMINS MORE CONTROL

Another big change is that WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that will let its users who are group admins approve new participants.

This feature will further give group admins more control as they can limit or control the number of people who can join a group and manage the group chat more efficiently.

When will they roll out these changes?

Let’s look at when WhatsApp plans to release these upcoming features and how they will work.

A report by Wabetainfo suggests that the Meta-owned instant messaging app is testing 21 new emojis for its Android beta users. This means the new emoji palette is now available for the Android beta version and is expected to roll out for all Android users in future updates.

The new emojis are part of WhatsApp’s latest Unicode 15.0 update.

YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR WHATSAPP APP UPDATED TO GET THE LATEST UPDATES

According to Wabetainfo, the new emojis were not officially available earlier as they were under development. But now WhatsApp is testing and releasing the emojis officially for its users.

It is advisable for users to keep their WhatsApp app updated to get all the latest updates, including the new emojis on the keyboard.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp stopped working on over 40 devices including some iPhone models – see if your phone is on the list.
