FlySafair is not just a brilliant airline, it is also the world’s most punctual airline in the low-cost carrier category.

This factor is an important consideration for many passengers who are pressed for time and who seek reliability when flying.

Safair was ranked the most punctual budget airline globally last month, according to Cirium’s monthly On-Time Performance (OTP) report.

The SA airline took the global lead for punctuality last month, with 90.81% of its flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time.

This is not the first time the no-frills airline ranks best in the world for its on-time performance.

Cirium gathers data for its reports and publications through its partners, such as airlines, airports and lessors.

It then analyses information received from more than 2 000 data sources and publishes its monthly OTP report.

According to data provided by Cirum, FlySafair had the most punctual arrivals out of 96 695 budget airline flights tracked.

The award-winning low-cost airline which is an arm of Safair is an official sponsor to South African Rugby.

FlySafair expected a Springbok victory in last month’s Rugby World Cup final. It was hopeful that SA’s national team would bring back the trophy.

The airline even “prepared” space for the Webb Ellis Trophy on its flights before the final match took place at Stade de France in Paris last month.

Last month saw the airline start up four new cross-border routes out of its hub in Johannesburg.

FlySafair launched daily flights to Harare and three weekly flights to Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe).

It also operates four flights a week to both Livingstone (Zambia) and Maputo (Mozambique).
