The instability in the Zimbabwean music industry and entertainment space constantly forces talent between a rock and a hard place.

PLATINUM PRINCE SHOCKS THE ENTERTAINMENT SCENE

The Zimbabwean entertainment industry was left jaw-dropping after it emerged that one of its dancehall stars, Platinum Prince, was apprehended in South Africa for attemped hijacking.

It is reported that the Zimbabwean talent was caught trying to hijack a diesel tanker in the country.

It is also reported that the botched hijacking was performed alongside an accomplice who was also nabbed and both “paid” for their wrongdoing.
iHarare reports that Platinum Prince was ruthlessly beaten to a pulp after being caught red-handed.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TALENT

It is unclear as to which part of the country the incident took place. But what is known is that the intervention by those who discovered the unfolding crime escalated the situation into a merciless confrontation, leaving the artist battered and bruised, iHarare elaborated.

WHY ZIMBABWEAN ARTISTS ARE FAILING

A disappointed DopeQueen Worldwide attributed the embarrassing incident to the lack of unity by Zimbabwean talent.
“My beloved ZIMDANCEHALL is this where we have come to, we are doing all sorts to survive now we either joining Politicians or stealing because we all failed to do one simple thing, UNITE in our music system and then push this movement to greater heights,” she said on Facebook.

“Why should they say artists in Zimbabwe are broke when they have talents. TALENT is MONEY.”

She added: “There is money in music but that money can only be located if we follow the right structures and protocols of a working music system. Look at South Africa, the Gqom and Amapianos youths have gone viral Worldwide and they are catching flights every day whilst Zimdancehall youths and elders are turning into thugs, drug dealers, Satanists, drug abusers, witches, wizards and politician puppets. (Alprazolam) This is so sad really my heart is broken, Platinum Prince Ndururani 62K Facebook followers for this sad ending, sedhanzi hakuna kwatirikuenda zve kana zvadai”.
