The devastating tornado that was accompanied by flooding in part of KwaZulu-Natal, precisely Durban, has left a number of schools destroyed.

GIFT OF THE GIVERS AMONG ORGANISATIONS ON THE GROUND

As government and non-governmental agencies descended on areas that were extremely battered by the tornado, some schools made the casualty list.

After their efforts to conduct risk assessments were hindered due to lighting and floods yesterday, Gift of the Givers hit the ground running this morning by visiting a number of affected sites including a school.

“The severity of the storm hindered the immediate assessment of damages by the Gift of the Givers team.”
