A 27-year-old male taxi conductor was reportedly hit by a light motor vehicle while touting for passengers at Phoenix Highway, Kwa-Zulu Natal

A 27-year-old taxi conductor was reportedly struck by a light motor vehicle while touting for passengers at Phoenix Highway, Kwa-Zulu Natal on Friday, 12 May.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), the incident occurred approximately at 15:12 – that’s when they received a call for assistance from motorists.

TAXI CONDUCTOR HIT BY A SMALL VEHICLE

It was reported that the male conductor disembarked from the minibus and fled across the road to tout passengers when he was struck by a maroon Hyundai I10.

He sustained moderate injuries.

MINIBUS LEFT THE CONDUCTOR BEHIND, INJURED

“He was treated for his injuries on [the] scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance,” said Rusa.

However, the taxi he disembarked from, left him injured behind.
