“My daughter used to go to school with her natural Afro tied in a bun, and she’d occasionally do braids or I’d plait her natural hair.” “However, since the rules changed, I decided to reinstall her natural dreadlocks, which I had kept from when she had dreadlocks as a child.” This was during the school vacations, and I noticed her afro was getting destroyed because she couldn’t do braids anymore, so I implanted her dreadlocks,” according to the article.

The school contacted the student’s mother, claiming that her dreadlocks were not neatly tied, and later told her not to return if her dreadlocks remained intact, according to the article.
