State opposed Magudumana’s claims
Nandipha Magudumana claimed that Thabo Bester had transported her out of the country against her will. However, the state opossed her claims.

Nandipha Magudumana claimed that Thabo Bester, a rapist and murderer, had transported her out of the country against her will when she was powerless and defenceless. However, the state has shot down her claims.
She was not Bester’s victim, according to a list of justifications provided by the state.

Justifications provided by the state
On Tuesday afternoon, the State gave evidence through an affidavit in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court from investigating officer Colonel Tieho Flyman.
Flyman claimed that Magudumana and Bester travelled and lodged in Cape Town together, where Magudumana wrote out a prescription for Bester, and the two of them went to a salon.

According to Flyman, “There is no piece of evidence that she was ever forced or threatened in any manner” despite the applicant’s role in Bester’s escape.
Magudumana, according to Flyman, has not filed a complaint of kidnapping since her incarceration in April of this year.

Since she was arrested in April, five fraud cases amounting to roughly R23 million have been filed against her, according to prosecutor Sello Matlhoko.
“By staying in the nation, the applicant has nothing to lose. She spent 11 months avoiding police. She escaped the country but did not take her passport with her. She doesn’t regard the law.

The State further disclosed that the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission lists her as a director of at least five companies.
What did Magudumana claim?
Magudumana had earlier claimed that Bester frightened her and forced her to flee the country.
She added that Bester threatened her. She was alone, defenceless and helpless when she was taken out of SA.
