The Democratic Alliance (DA) have dropped a friendly reminder to the state capture inquiry about some of the biggest issues that are yet to be addressed by the commission.
Party leader Mmusi Maimane spearheaded a team that submitted a host of affidavits, presenting more evidence on a wide range of separate state capture topics that have so far evaded the attentions of Raymond Zondo’s task-force.
In total, they make reference to 10 cases that may have slipped under the radar since the inquiry began in August. These “nudges in the right direction” took aim at some of the most infamous state capture architects. We’ve broken the papers down into a quick, handy list:
Natasha Mazzone is the DA’s state capture spokesperson. She accompanied Maimane at Cape Town Central Police Station, and promised that no stone would be left unturned in the bid to bring every Gupta ally to justice:
“The DA has pursued every possible channel available to ensure that those who were implicated in State Capture are held accountable including parliamentary oversight, opening criminal cases, reporting to the Public Protector and advocating for the Eskom Inquiry.”
“The police have a responsibility to probe those who have been implicated in looting the state and it is vital that they update South Africans on the charges in the interests of transparency.”
