Police have urged the public to remain on high alert as the eight-year-old female tiger, named Sheba, is still on the loose in Walkerville and its surrounding areas in Johannesburg.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Sello, the tiger escaped from its cage and attacked a 39-year-old man and a dog in the area.
A video of a group of men getting the fright of their lives when a lion unexpectedly wakes up has gone viral.

In the video, a group of men is busy with what seems to be the unloading of a tranquilised lion. The lion wakes up, and the men are seen running in all directions. One of the men decides to jump on the back of the bakkie and sit quietly while another points a gun at the clearly irritated lions. A woman can be heard asking the man with the gun to please get on the back of the bakkie.

The committee, of which several cabinet ministers are members, told business and labour leaders on Monday, 16 January that a range of interventions have been made at a time when South Africans was enduring record blackouts of as much as 12 hours a day.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of an ANC Councillor, Sbonelo Ntshangase, and two other people in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.
Ntshangase was shot dead on Friday, 13 January. A video of the late Councillor where he names those behind the murder of politicians in Mpumalanga and those who will kill him has been widely circulated on social media platforms.
