This is said to be the first time a Great White Shark has been beached in South Africa as a result of clashing with Orcas. The carcass was moved to the Dias Maritime Museum for dissection yesterday. Aquatic experts are now trying to make sense of these developments.
Cristiaan Stopforth was one of the first residents to get a glimpse of the ravaged predator. He made his way to the beach in Hartenbos on Sunday morning. Stopforth described the scene as ‘saddening’, lamenting that the Orcas were able to cause ‘so much chaos’.
