‘SAPS are helpless’: Fury as beloved dad SHOT DEAD at school

The death of 34-year-old Eugene Tshililo has left a community in Soweto reeling. On Tuesday, he was struck down in a hail of bullets right outside of the gates of his son’s school – and the murder has left a sour taste in many, many mouths.

The parent was shot dead while fetching his child at Faranani Primary School in Protea Glen, Soweto. It is reported that the parent had sought to intervene during a car hijacking of scholar transport. This took place in full view of learners and adults alike.

Woman turns herself in after killing and burning her toddler

A 25-year-old woman handed herself to the police in Gauteng after she allegedly killed her four-year-old son in Gauteng on Monday, 10 October.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said the horrific incident occurred in Tshiawelo Flats, Soweto.

We need this! SA ‘may get an EXTRA Public Holiday’ in December

Sign us up immediately. The top dogs at FEDUSA, one of the largest trade union organisations in South Africa, have reached out to Cyril Ramaphosa. They are bidding to secure an extra Public Holiday for Mzansi in December – in a campaign likely receive major public backing.

Basically, the fact that Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year really screws workers over. That’s because any paid holiday which falls on a Sunday must legally be carried over to the Monday instead. However, that’s already a prescribed day off as well.

US issues new TRAVEL WARNING for citizens visiting South Africa

An attack on four tourists at Kruger National Park last week appears to have spooked a number of international authorities. In a travel warning issued on Wednesday, a regional US Embassy has told Americans to avoid the Numbi Gate region of Mpumalanga.

The stern advisory tells US travellers to ‘seek alternative routes’ into KNP. Earlier today, we reported that the government is considering ‘the closure’ of Numbi Gate, due to a spike in criminal activity. A failed carjacking earlier this month resulted in the death of a German tourist.
