Where is Andre de Ruyter NOW? He landed a new job in the US

Former Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter has landed a new job at the private Ivy League research university Yale in New Haven, Connecticut, in the US.

According to a report by Daily Investor, De Ruyter will be a senior guest lecturer, presenting a course on renewable energy and the green economy market.

Earlier this year, in February, he left Eskom with immediate effect following an explosive interview on ENCA where he accused the ANC of corruption and enrichment through Eskom.

Taxi Strike: Nearly 300 000 learners stay at home

Just two days in, and the taxi strike in the Western Cape has had a knockout on effect with various industries including education. According to the Western Cape Education Department 287 420 learners have been kept from school. This includes learners who depend on public transport as well as learners who use private vehicles but are kept at home as parents fear for their safety.

The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) immediately recalled all takes in the province on Thursday, creating chaos in the City, with thousands forced to walk home.

Elon Musk to cover legal costs of people sacked over Twitter posts

Billionaire Elon Musk has announced that X, formerly Twitter, will now cover the legal costs of people who have been treated unfairly by their employers or companies because of their activities on the platform.

In a tweet, Musk said that if your employer unfairly treated you due to posting or liking something on Twitter, X will fund your legal bill. No limit. He also urged users to “please let us know” if they have been affected by this issue.

What were they thinking? People burn money at braai [VIDEO]

 video of people burning money at a braai has gone viral, sparking outrage and disbelief.

The video, which was shared on Twitter, shows a group of people gathered around a braai in what appears to be a backyard.

The people are seen lighting R100 and R200 notes on fire and then placing them on the grill. The video has been viewed over 100,000 times and has been shared over 1,000 times.
