WATCH: Snowy SA turned into a winter wonderland

Significant snow has been confirmed in several parts of South Africa. More SNOW, rain and extreme cold weather is expected.

According to Voxweather, forecaster Annette Botha, the latest forecast indicate that freezing levels are expected to drop significantly from Saturday into Sunday as a strong cold front and possible cut-off low is expected to bring rain and SNOW.

“A significant drop in temperatures is expected across the Cape Provinces and our neighbouring country NAMIBIA.”

WATCH: Strong winds causes CHAOS – weather warning issued

Strong winds caused chaos in the Eastern Cape on Sunday. People were recorded in the street holding on to traffic signs for dear life in East London on Sunday. 

The roofs of several hospitals in the provinces were blown off. 

Eastern Cape Department of Health spokesperson Mkhululi Ndamase said the gusty winds that caused havoc in parts of the Eastern Cape damaged some health facilities, resulting in roofs being blown away.

Here is what EFF Julius Malema said during the celebrations

The FNB Stadium in Johannesburg was painted red with thousands of people in Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) regalia as the party celebrated its 10th birthday anniversary.

The party’s supporters – the majority of whom seem to be young people came from all corners of the country to commemorate ten years of the EFF’s existence.

EFF leader Julius Malema spoke about several issues and their plans for the next year.

BREAKING: NFP councillor in Nongoma Municipality shot dead

A National Freedom Party (NFP) councillor in KwaNongoma Municipality has been shot and killed by unknown assassins.

It is reported that Ntombenhle Mchunu was killed this morning, Sunday, 30 July, after she had been living in fear for some time before her demise.

It is believed that Mchunu was sleeping at her Nongoma home when gunmen broke in and fired several shots, killing her instantly before fleeing the scene, IOL reported.

DA requests Health Ombud, Human Rights Commission to probe Witbank Hospital

A recent oversight by the DA at Witbank Provincial Hospital has found the government institution to continue operating under shocking and dangerous conditions.

Michele Clarke MP, the DA Shadow Minister of Health, returned to Witbank Hospital merely weeks after assisting a pregnant woman in distress at the facility.

“Unfortunately, our visit revealed that little has been done to address the shocking and dangerous conditions that endangered Cindy Steyn and her baby’s life,” said Clarke.
