Mapisa-Nqakula was accused of taking bribes in return for awarding contracts when she was serving as the defence minister.
The police unite, according to BBC News, was acting on behalf of the state prosecutors who were carrying out the case.
The alleged mastermind in the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes Mziwethemba Gwabeni says the R800 000 deposited into his account was from a reputable company.
Gwabeni is among five of the seven suspects applying for bail in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
Vodacom Group Ltd. is planning on cutting around 80 jobs in South Africa to help reduce costs.
According to Bloomberg, Vodacom, which is Africa’s largest wireless company by market value, confirmed the news in response to queries on Monday.
The Johannesburg-based company employs about 5 400 people and the reductions will be at all levels of the company, it said.
