A maritime standstill at South African ports has left nearly 100 vessels in a holding pattern, waiting to dock amid challenges faced by Transnet, the state-owned logistics firm.

Breakdowns and adverse weather conditions have compounded the issue, leading to a significant backlog. In an online briefing on Monday, Transnet Chairman Andile Sangqu attributed the delays to outdated equipment at Durban’s container terminal, a critical hub handling over 40% of South Africa’s port traffic.

The City of Ekurhuleni has issued an early warning to motorists to be vigilant at filling stations and drive-through establishments as crime is expected to increase.

Four Grade 10 learners in hot water for performing disturbing rituals on 13 learners

Free State Department of Education has expressed its outrage and disgust after feared grade 10 learners were exposed for performing disturbing initiation rituals on fellow learners at Christiaan De Wet Combined Primary School.

According to the department, the social media posts depict the gruesome bullying of a Grade 8 boy learner.
In the post, fresh burn marks are seen on the learner’s arm.
