Raw Sewerage continues to spill into EThekwini Beaches

ActionSA has lifted the lid on the source of the poor water quality in parts of EThekwini beaches. The party alleges that 20 million litres of unaccounted raw sewerage is released into the Umngeni River and beaches daily.

The party’s leader in EThekwini Alan Beesley says the prolonged contamination of beaches in Durban’s South Coast, is due to aged and damaged water pumps which were damaged by the floods of April 2021.

Rand Water shutdown to affect various parts of Tshwane from Thursday

A number of areas in the City of Tshwane will be affected by the Rand Water shutdown set to last for at least 12 hours per day from Thursday, 14 September.

Potable water supplier Rand Water will be carrying out planned upgrade work during the month of September.

In a statement, the City of Tshwane said during the shutdown Rand Water will replace and upgrade the bulk water metres supplying the Mabopane and Ga-Rankuwa Industrial, Kruisfontein, Atteridgeville LL and the Cornwall Hill Reservoirs.

More SNOW, rain, and COLD weather is expected in these parts of South Africa from Thursday.

According to VoxWeather forecaster Annette Botha, another front is on the horizon, scheduled to arrive in Cape Town on Thursday.

“This front brings with it the promise of light rain and a return to cooler temperatures. Fortunately, this system is expected to dissipate quickly and won’t significantly affect the rest of South Africa.”

With Busisiwe Mkhwebane becoming the first head of a Chapter Nine institution to be impeached, there is some level of renewed interest in the Public Protector’s office, including her predecessor, Thuli Madonsela.

The removal from office means Mkhwebane will forfeit the R10 million gratuity that would have been due to her had she completed her tenure without interference. A total of 318 MPs voted in favour of a motion to impeach Mkhwebane after Parliament’s Section 194 Committee, which had been tasked with probing her fitness for office, found her guilty of gross misconduct and incompetence.

Asteroid alert! MASSIVE space rock heading to Earth TODAY

A MASSIVE 180-foot space rock could make its first-ever close approach to Earth TODAY.

According to NASA, the asteroid, given the designation of Asteroid 2023 RH2, is already on its way towards Earth, traveling at a staggering speed of 77303 kilometers per hour in its orbit around the Sun.

This asteroid is expected to make its closest approach to Earth today, and it will pass by a distance of almost 4.3 million kilometers.
