Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema has accused top brass at the South African Police Service (SAPS) of working with criminals.

Malema said this during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) debate in Cape Town on Tuesday, 14 February.

MALEMA ACCUSES SAPS OF WORKING WITH CRIMINALS

During the debate, Malema said South Africa would never defeat crime as long as the SAPS leadership works with criminals.

Malema said it is the responsibility of President Cyril Ramaphosa to remove Police Minister Bheki Cele with immediate effect because he has failed the people of South Africa.

“We will never get to know what happened to our artists DJ Sumbody and AKA because the police and higher accolades of the police are in cahoots with the criminal syndicate. We cannot fight crime while criminals lead us; we must first get rid of criminals to defeat crime,” he said.
