The world-class uShaka Marine World is ready to host the thousands of visitors who are flocking to Durban’s shores for the festive season.

With the December holidays in full swing, eThekwini Municipality has decided to showcase some of its fun places to visit for holiday-makers, including uShaka Marine World.

WHAT NOT TO MISS AT USHAKA MARINE WORLD THIS FESTIVE SEASON

According to eThekwini Municipality, uShaka Marine World offers guests the opportunity to live in the moment and indulge in unlimited fun for the whole family.

“The world-class uShaka Marine World is ready to host the thousands of visitors who are flocking to Durban’s shores for the festive season. To promote brand visibility, the eThekwini entity has unveiled branded Durban Transport buses travelling around the City that have uShaka Marine World branding,” said the municipality.

TOP THINGS TO DO AT THE ETHEKWINI FACILITY

South Africa’s most loved marine theme parks offer the following activities:

  1. Enjoy the wet and wild experience with water slides and several pools, including the highest water slide in Africa.
  2. Explore the aquarium and catch a dolphin show.
  3. Fine dining culinary experience at Cargo Hold.
  4. Explore close encounters at the Sea Animal Encounter Island – These include a shark dive, ocean walker, and snorkelling.
  5. Enjoy the sunset while sipping on a cocktail at Wahooz.
  6. Visit the Village Walk beach shopping centre for a unique shopping experience.

DURBAN BEACHES NOW OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Meanwhile, Durban’s eThekwini Municipality Mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda, has assured both residents and visitors that the city’s beaches are safe for swimming.

The announcement coincided with the reopening of the iconic uMhlanga Rocks Whalebone Pier, greeted with enthusiasm from the public.
Mayor Kaunda highlighted the positive results from water quality testing, conducted in collaboration with the Institute for Water and Wastewater Technology at the Durban University of Technology.

“The city’s results sampled on 12 December, as part of its weekly routine testing, have also revealed that of the 23 bathing beaches, 20 beaches are e-coli compliant with acceptable standards for swimming and other water recreational use,” Kaunda said.
