Sex worker murder accused’s trial postponed

The case against Sifiso Mkhwanazi who is accused of murdering a woman believed to be a sex worker has been postponed to June 2.

Mkhwanazi, the 21-year-old man, allegedly linked to the murder of one of six women believed to be sex workers, shortly appeared at the Johannesburg magistrate court this week.

He faces charges of killing a sex worker whose dead body was found near five other dead bodies of the sex workers in a building in Village Main, downtown Johannesburg.

DNA

Currently, four of the six bodies have been identified by their relatives, however, the DNA for the other two bodies has not been confirmed yet as it is still in the process.

Mkhwanazi has only been charged with the murder of one woman, although six bodies were found at his father’s workshop in Johannesburg in October.

SECURITY PERSONAL ALERTED

Before his arrest, security personnel alerted his father about the bad smell coming out of the building, and police were called. When police arrived, they discovered decomposing six dead bodies believed to be of the six sex workers.

Police said that in June 2021, Mkhwanazi was arrested on rape charges in June, however the charges were withdrawn by the complainant.

He was bust on October 9 after the dead bodies of six sex workers were discovered in a building in Village Main, downtown Johannesburg.

In 2022 sex workers told the residents that a young rich, handsome man had visited them for a couple of weeks, taking their colleagues with him to his place.

They said that the women taken by Mkhwanazi have never returned. They said he changed different expensive cars, offer women lot of money and took them to his place but they never returned.
