The SA Weather Service issued multiple weather warnings for 10 February, and already severe road damage became visible.
Flooding caused sinkholes and washed away tar on roads.

The authorities urge road users to avoid traveling on Paul Kruger Road between Wilgeheuwel Hospital and John Vorster in Roodepoort.
The severe weather caused the tar to wash away in the dip near the bridge, making the road a one-way and unsafe to drive on.

Community members should use alternative routes instead.
The JMPD has been informed of this situation.

Recent rainfall has caused some rivers in Gauteng to overflow and reach full capacity.
Saturated soils will continue to allow runoff from forecasted rainfall to flow into the river systems.

Showers and thundershowers are expected to persist in Gauteng today and tomorrow, 11 February.
This may result in additional flooding.
