Chicco offered Kelly an overseas holiday just days after Senzo’s death
Tumelo Madlala told the court that Sello Chicco Twala offered Kelly Khumalo a holiday overseas just days after Senzo Meyiwa’s death.

State witness in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Tumelo Madlala has revealed that music producer, Sello “Chicco” Twala offered the late goalkeeper’s then-girlfriend and singer Kelly Khumalo a holiday overseas just days after his death.
Madlala revealed this at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday, 7 August.

On Monday, 7 August Madlala was overcome by emotions while on the witness stand as he testified about what happened the night Meyiwa was killed.
Madlala said the house was fully packed with neighbours following the shooting. He added that they (along with the neighbours) tried to lift Meyiwa up but his body was heavy, however, they managed to get him to his own car (a BMW X6) which was parked in the yard.
Kelly was reportedly driving while her sister, Zandie, Mthokozisi and Tumelo accompanied her as she rushed to Botshelong Hospital.

“Upon our arrival, Senzo was taken by nurses and they waited on the benches. After a while a nurse appeared with a picture of an x-ray and asked for an elder. Kelly’s mother (MaKhumalo) then went. She came back crying and told us Senzo was no more,” he explained.
He added that he does not know how MaKhumalo got to Botshelong Hospital.
According to the witness, Mthokozisi Thwala remained at Botshelong Hospital with other people he knew as Senzo’s wife, Mandisa, had also arrived. He went back to Kelly’s home with another neighbour. Zandie, Kelly and Gladness also came back and all their phones were confiscated and statements were taken. After a long while, they were escorted to Mulberton and they spent the night and a couple of days there.

Madlala told the court that he does not remember the exact day but while they were there Chicco Twala visited them and spoke to Kelly.
“I heard him asking Kelly if she does not want to go to a holiday overseas,” he told the court.
