The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial resumes at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Monday, 22 April.

WATCH: SENZO MEYIWA MURDER TRIAL CONTINUES

Last week, the court heard evidence from various South African Police Service (SAPS) officers.

Cellphone data analyst Lieutenant Colonel Gideon Gouws testified about communication between all the accused. While Sergeant Mlondi Tsie testified about buccal samples he collected from accused 3 Mthobisi Mncube who was already serving another sentence in 2020.

On Friday, Sergeant Batho Mogola who was part of the team that investigated the murder of Senzo Meyiwa also told the court that Mncube asked her to share the evidence against him.

WHO ARE THE MEN CHARGED?

Five men are on trial at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria for the murder of Senzo Meyiwa who was killed at the home of his girlfriend and singer Kelly Khumalo on 26 October 2014. The men are: Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Fisokuhle Nkani Ntuli.

They face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition. All five men pleaded not guilty.

WHEN DO COURT PROCEEDINGS START?

Court proceedings typically start at 10:00, adjourn at 13:00 for lunch and resume again at 14:00. However, due to unforeseen circumstances on a particular day, there are delays, and sometimes court adjourns for either tea or lunch earlier than the set times indicated above.
