The defence in the trial of the five men accused of killing former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa is expected to continue with the cross-examination of lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda.

On Wednesday, 24 January, the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria heard that two of the accused implicated singer Kelly Khumalo as the person who ordered the hit on Meyiwa and also paid them.

SENZO MEYIWA MURDER TRIAL CONTINUES

Meyiwa was shot at Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus on 26 October 2014 in what was initially thought to be a botched robbery, however, police say evidence under oath suggests that the murder of Meyiwa was a contractual assassination or hit and not a botched robbery.
