This week a number of police officers took the stand at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria where the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial sits.

The highly-anticipated trial of the five men accused of killing former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa has resumed at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.
This week cellphone data experts and officers from the South African Police Service (SAPS) who were among the first to arrive at Kelly Khumalo’s home in Vosloorus where Meyiwa was shot and wounded on 26 October 2014 took the stand.
Sergeants Patrick Mthethwa and Timothy Mathebula who were both constables at the time of Meyiwa’s death said upon receiving the complaint of a shooting in progress in Vosloorus, they dropped everything and rushed to the scene.
Forensic expert Warrant Officer Thabo Mosia told the court that the shooting was reported four hours after it happened.
Meyiwa’s close friends Mthokozisi Thwala, Tumelo Madlala his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo, her mother Ntombi Gladness Khumalo, her sister Zandile Khumalo and her then-boyfriend Longwe Twala as well as Kelly’s two children Christian and Thingo were present when the goal keeper was shot on 26 October 2014.
Five men are on trial at the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria for the murder of the soccer star, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Fisokuhle Nkani Ntuli. They face charges of premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence and possession of ammunition. All five men pleaded not guilty as the trial has started afresh under Judge Ratha Mokgoathleng.
Mosia is expected on the stand on Monday, 21 August.
