SASSA releases grant payment dates for December

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) have just announced the next social grant payment dates for December.

Recipients of the Older Persons Grant will be paid first, while the Disability Grant(s) and all other social payments will be made thereafter.

If you are a social grant recipient, make an appointment with the nearest SASSA regional or national office – or apply to have your grant paid into your bank account for an easier way.

Here’s more about the dates on which national social grants are being paid.

SASSA social grant payment dates for December

According to SASSA, grant payment dates for December will start on the fist of the month and continue until the sixth.

The first social grants to be paid includes the Older Persons (Pensioners) grant, which gets paid on 1 December. The next social grant on the list is the Disability Grant, which gets paid on 4 December.

Other SASSA grants will be paid to recipients after this time.

If you don’t receive your social grant payment on the expected date, you are advised to contact the agency’s hotline.

Other social grant payment dates

Other social grants, including the R350 SRD Grant, should be paid on 6 December.

If your social grant payment has been approved, expect to collect it or see your payment clear on this date.

Payments that have been rejected from the system might be subject to an appeal, with 30-days to lodge a complaint so that your grant payment can be reassessed.

SASSA gold cards for December?

New information has been released by SASSA about the valid status of Gold Cards.

Instead of expiring this year, social grant cards are expected to remain valid well into the new year. If you are still using your gold card in 2024, rest assured that you can still receive your social grant payment in this way.
