Alleging urgent concerns for vulnerable citizens, the Democratic Alliance stormed into the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) office in Johannesburg,in response to the recent SASSA payment debacles.
Bridget Masango MP, the DA Shadow Minister of Social Development, along with Refiloe Nt’sekhe MPL and Bronwynn Engelbrecht MPL, urgently lodged a complaint at the SAHRC office in Johannesburg.

They accused Minister Lindiwe Zulu, the Department of Social Development, SASSA, and Postbank of contributing to persistent issues in social grant payments.
Bridget Masango stated, “Our SAHRC complaint rests on the fundamental principles in the South African Constitution, which firmly safeguard citizens’ rights and dignity. The core concerns in our grievance include:”

“The continuous SASSA grant payment crisis has exposed the Department of Social Development’s inability to tackle these urgent problems.
It’s clear that Minister Lindiwe Zulu and her department are facing difficulties in delivering the care and support needed by our society’s most vulnerable members.”
