SASSA: One more week to go for payments 

If you have misplaced or lost your SASSA gold card, here is how you can make a cardless withdrawal in-store

There are just seven more days till the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) beneficiaries can begin receiving their money, starting from Wednesday 2 August.

EXPIRED GOLD CARD CAN BE USED TILL 31 DECEMBER

The older persons will be the first to be paid out on the 2nd. They will be followed by the disability grant and any other grant linked to it (such as the care dependency grant) will be paid out on Thursday 3 August. On Friday, the child support grant and other remaining grants will be paid out.

SASSA has assured all gold card holders, whose cards have expired or are soon to expire, that the card remains valid and available for use till the end of the year. 

DON’T HAVE A CARD? DON’T WORRY 

If you’ve lost your SASSA gold card, beneficiaries can make cardless withdrawals at retail partners.

1. You need to take your phone, ID and SASSA card pin

2. Go to any participating retailer

3. At the store you will be asked to punch in your ID and cellphone number to verify that you are the actual beneficiary. 

4. A confirmation message will be sent to your phone.

5. The cashier will then ask you to punch in your PIN (same as the card pin)

6. Cash will be paid out

The cardless withdrawal option is available at Pick n Pay, Boxer, OK, Shoprite, Checkers and Shoprite USave. The grant can also be withdrawn at all ATM’s
