SASSA grant late? Contact Postbank, say Ministers

Is your SASSA social grant payment late? Here’s what Ministers had to advise if you haven’t received yours.

Postbank issues have led to thousands of delayed SASSA social grants.

According to a media briefing on the 14th of September, the “glitch” causing late social grant payments has been fixed. Yet some South Africans have still not had access to their social grants, including the Elderly Persons or Pensioners Grant – and the R350-SRD grant.

Is your expected social grant payment late?

Here’s what Ministers of Social Development & Communications and Digital Technologies had to advise.

SASSA updates on late social grant payments

Ministers Lindiwe Zulu (Social Development) and Mondli Gungubele (Communications and Digital Tech) have confirmed that Postbank SASSA issues should be fixed.

A system update is believed to have caused the “glitch” that caused payment delays.

If your social grant was delayed due to the Postbank issue, you should have been able to collect your grant payment. Unfortunately, some South Africans might still experience delays or late payments.

According to the media briefing by the Ministers, those with late social grant payments must contact Postbank.

The media briefing has advised all beneficiaries who have not received their grant monies “or require support” to contact Postbank.

If you receive your social grant with any other means (like into your bank account or SASSA card), then you can also contact the South African Social Security Agency directly.
