Supporters of the African National Congress(ANC) have taken extreme measures to show their dislike for its former president Jacob Zuma and his new party Umkhonto Wesizwe.

The governing party celebrated its 112 Anniversary Rally and January 8th statement at Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga on Saturday.

A COFFIN AT A CELEBRATION

Supporters can be seen hoisting the coffin with the words ‘RIP Zuma’ on one side and similarly on the other side RIP MK Party.

Zuma had in December announced that he is casting his vote for the new MK Party as his conscience would not him ‘vote for the ANC of Ramaphosa’.

Despite saying that he will remain a member of the ANC, the party says Zuma has already expelled himself and there is no need for a disciplinary hearing.

SOCIAL MEDIA REACTION

Meanwhile social media users, have expressed their shock at the ANC for allowing the coffin to be brought into its event.

“A Coffin raised with the words “RIP Zuma” at #ANC112. I am no fan of the man, but this at a celebration of the ruling party? The same ANC running to the ICJ waving the humanity flag. ANC will lose KZN and expect to see political killings increase” says @heinwelman

“Even in student politics they’ve abandoned this because is inhumane and disgusting. ANC is old and big organization to do this shenanigans”, @bafotlhasedi.

While @sia_nkuna says the party lacks leadership.

“The ANC is leaderless. That stunt of a coffin written “RIP Zuma” was a clear indication that we are led by ama phara. Real leaders would have stopped such nonsense and demonstrate leadership. Anyway, being a leader can’t be bought.”
