The Nelspruit police are pursuing two female armed robbers concerning a robbery at the River Side Mall in Nelspruit.

ARMED SUSPECTS HELD UP FEMALE STUDENTS

The incident occurred on Wednesday, 08 February 2023, whereby two tertiary students fell prey to the alleged female robbers.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said according to the information, the female suspects in possession of a firearm, hidden inside a bag, reportedly approached two female (tertiary) students.

She said the suspects pretended to be asking for directions at the mall.

“On their way to show them where they were supposed to go, one of the suspects allegedly showed them a gun inside her handbag. She held her victims hostage, instructing them not to scream or else they will be fatally shot,” says Mohlala.

POLICE ARE HUNTING TWO FEMALE ARMED ROBBERS

The suspects robbed both victims of their belongings, including two iPhones and a wristwatch.

The alleged female robbers made off with the stolen items. Police are investigating a case of robbery with a firearm.

Police investigators are adamant that the woman in the picture may assist them in their investigation.

Police are asking the person in the picture to go to the nearest police station immediately. She can help them with the investigation into the matter.
