PICS: Police in Polokwane search for Jewellery store robbers
Police reported that a 33-year-old female was on duty at a local jewellery store at Savannah Mall when armed criminals stormed the shop.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Polokwane in Limpopo activated a team of investigators to trace and arrest suspects who committed a business robbery at a jewellery store at Savannah Mall in Polokwane on Friday, 12 May.
SUSPECTS ACCOST STAFF AT A JEWELLERY STORE
It is reported that a 33-year-old female was on duty at a local jewellery store at Savannah Mall with her colleagues when a group of men armed with firearms entered the store and demanded money and gold.
Police in Polokwane further reported that the suspects proceeded to the display area and safely took out jewellery worth thousands of rand and put it into bags.

“Two of the suspects assaulted the employees before they fled the scene in a grey Toyota Corolla sedan motor vehicle.”

94-YEAR-OLD GRABBED ROBBER’S LEGS
Meanwhile, a jewellery shop in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape was robbed by armed suspects on Tuesday, 6 December 2022.
According to reports, the 94-year-old owner put up a valiant fight.
Schalk Pienaar, 94, the owner of Plett Jewellers told the Knysna-Plett Herald that he opened his security gate for a customer who had shown interest in purchasing gold chains the previous day.
When the gate was opened three people entered the shop and two of them were armed.
“One tried to jump over the counter and I grabbed his legs and held him down, while he pushed a gun into my face,” said Vorster.

The police assured that the investigations are underway.
