Police crack down on drugs
Police confiscated 2,450 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value R180 000 and 8 bags of Tik valued at R45 000.

Two people have been arrested on charges of possession of drugs following a raid in Goodwood in Cape Town on Wednesday. Working on an intelligence-driven operation, the South African Police Service’s Anti-Gang Unit raid revealed drugs with a street value of R75 000.
Once charged, the 34-year-old suspect is expected to appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court.

FREE STATE DRUG BUST
Meanwhile, police in the Free State have arrested three people in two separate busts on drug-related charges in the past 24 hours.
In Winnie Park in Bromville, police acted off information from the public and arrested a 50-year-old man on drug dealing charges. The alleged drug dealer was found with 330 whole Mandrax tablets and cash.

While police in Thabong identified residential premises where police seized Mandrax tablets, seven sachets containing crystal meth and cash. A 62-year-old man attempted to evade arrest but was swiftly apprehended. A 39-year-old woman was also arrested for possession of drugs when she was found with Mandrax tablets.

The suspects are set to appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
POLICE R225 000 DRUG BUST
In a major bust on Wednesday in Kimberley, police arrested two alleged drug dealers and confiscated drugs and a hearse worth thousands.
The vehicle allegedly belongs to a local funeral parlour in Roodepan, Kimberley.
The raid took place in the parking area of the North Cape Mall. Upon inspection, the hearse, a silver Chrysler, contained Mandrax and Tik in a compartment in the back of the vehicle.
The owner of the funeral parlour, who was also the driver at the time of the incident, and the 34-year-old male passenger were arrested and charged with dealing drugs.

The two male suspects will soon appear in the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court.
