People who have symptoms of Pink Eye are urged to visit their nearest clinic as reported cases increase in KwaZulu-Natal.

KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane urges the public to avoid Pink Eye infections by practicing good personal hygiene.
The call comes as at least 161 cases of Pink Eye have been confirmed in various parts of eThekwini District since 26 February.
The KZN Health Department said pink eye cases were recorded at Clairwood Hospital (55), KZN Children’s Hospital (50), Cato Manor Community Health Centre (39), McCord Hospital (15), and Halley Stott Clinic (2).
Following the surge in reported cases, KZN Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane said a few basic hygienic practices can help contain the spread of Pink Eye.
Simelane urged those who have Pink Eye symptoms to visit their nearest clinic.
“During the Covid-19, we developed several habits that promote good hygiene, such as regular hand washing with soap and water or sanitizer. Those are some of the things we need to re-orient ourselves with,” she said.
