WWE superstar Randy Orton’s wrestling future is in jeopardy after he was reportedly told by doctors not to continue wrestling.

The 43-year-old was injured in 2022 and hasn’t returned to action since.

It is believed Orton underwent a back fusion surgery in November 2022.

Orton’s back injury could force him to retire at 43

His father Bob Orton told Sportskeeda that the medical staff told Orton not to go back to WWE

“‘He’s training, so we’ll see what happens; I don’t know. If he feels like he’s ready to go back, I think he might, but again he’s pretty well taken care of. I don’t think he needs to.

“And I think the doctors have told him not to. But Randy will do what Randy wants to do,” Cowboy Orton added.

It appears as if WWE doesn’t have any long term plans for the star at the moment, but it is believed he is still under contract with the company.

During this year’s WWE Draft,  ‘The Viper’ was not available for selection which suggested he may be a long way off a return.

‘The Viper’ as he is known amongst fans, has won 14 world championship titles to his name in his 20-year career and is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.

He started his career back in 2002 and later rose to stardom when he joined Evolution alongside Triple H, Batista and Ric Flair.
