The boarding school-only school will cost parents of matriculants in 2024 a staggering R397 660, according to the school’s website.
That represents a R27 740 hike (or 7.5%) on 2023’s fees.

According to the BusinessTech website, Hilton College is followed by a second KwaZulu-Natal school in Michaelhouse with St Andrew’s College in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) in the Eastern Cape, rounding out the top three.

Roedean School for Girls (Gauteng) is in fourth place – and is the most expensive girls school in Mzansi.

Diocesan College, better known as ‘Bishops’, is the only Western Cape school to feature in seventh place.
The Top 10 most expensive private schools in South Africa is completed by St Mary’s College and St Alban’s College (both Gauteng) and Diocesan School for Girls (Eastern Cape).

Gauteng has four schools in the Top 10, followed by KwaZulu-Natal (3), the Eastern Cape (2) and the Western Cape (1).

By way of contrast, the country’s most expensive government school in 2024 is Pretoria Boys’ High School which will cost parents of matriculants R70 200.
