Russian tourist gets DEPORTED over half-naked pic

The 24-year-old Russian tourist, who calls himself Yuri Chilikin on social media, posed half-naked on the sacred Mount Agung.

A Russian tourist was deported from Bali after posting a half-naked photo of himself on a sacred mountain.

The sacred peak is also known to often draw misbehaving tourists that disrespect the predominantly Hindu island’s culture.

The 24-year-old Russian national, who calls himself Yuri Chilikin on social media, posed half-naked naked on Mount Agung, Bali’s highest peak. The Hindus on the island believe that it is the home of their gods.

RUSSIAN TOURIST DEPORTED ON TUESDAY

In a statement released on Wednesday, the immigration office in Bali said the tourist was deported on Tuesday to Moscow via Dubai. He was also banned from visiting Indonesia for at least six months.

He was detained and questioned after the image made its way around social media last month. Chilikin has apologised ever since before he was told to take part in a cleansing ritual in front of the mountain.

On Monday Chilikin posted images of the ritual to Instagram. In the caption, he says that “I did everything to correct this situation”, and that it was “a good lesson on how not to behave”.

Last month, Bali’s Governor Wayan Koster sent a letter to Indonesia’s government asking that visa-on-arrival privileges for Russian and Ukrainian tourists should be removed.

“Please enjoy the beauty of nature in Bali by adhering to the regulations,” immigration official Barron Ichsan said Wednesday.
