Sometimes you have to go the extra mile to clinch that sale and nobody knows that better than 29-year-old Morgan Macleod.

The self-described “tattooed and muscled man” tried selling a wedding gown which belonged to his former fiancée, online. Well, it turns out a bride-to-be named Sarah was interested in the dress, and asked him if there were any pictures that would show how it would look when worn.

Instead of getting a female friend to wear the gown or find photos online of a model in it, Macleod decided he’d don the dress himself. He uploaded a video on Tik Tok, in which he shares the exchange with the prospective buyer… as well as pics of him in the actual wedding dress.

Macleod had listed the wedding dress for $500 (nearly R7 000).

“Do you have any photos of this on a person? Or do you know the designer and style so I can look it up?,” Sarah’s message reads.

“I love it and it’s in my budget but I’m having trouble visualizing what it looks like on.”

He then took a few mirror selfies of himself in the lacey dress.

“I did what had to be done,” he joked.

So has Macleod managed to sell the wedding dress?

He shared the Tik Tok video on Monday, and it has been viewed more than 329,900 times and racked up more than 74,500 likes.

Macleod and his ex-fiancée had been dating for around three years, however the relationship turned sour before December 2020.

“My ex and I got engaged in 2019. Unfortunately, COVID hit us pretty hard, and we both had to go through some things that we weren’t ready for, and it ultimately ended our relationship about a week before Christmas in 2020. While that was quite sad, my mental health has taken a dramatic turn for the better since. Initially the dress held a little bit of emotional value to me, but once I decided to get rid of it, it became less so,” he is quoted as saying in an interview with Newsweek.

It isn’t clear whether he has managed to sell the dress, since posting the video. However, according to a comment he left, the gown is still in his closet.
