Police made over 250 arrests in O Kae Molao Operations which include undocumented people, drug dealers and wanted suspects.

The South African Police Services (SAPS) arrested over 250 people in Pretoria when they conducted O Kae Molao Operations on Friday. Police Minister, General Bheki Cele joined Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko and Gauteng Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela as they led the operations in Tshwane.
Gauteng police spokesperson, Captain Mavela Masondo said the police painted Tshwane blue as they were deployed at roadblocks, conducting stop and searches. Some officers also raided drug-dens and several buildings believed to be harbouring criminals.
“Roadblocks were also conducted on the R80 Mabopane highway, a spot where a number of robberies were reported recently; resulted in the arrest and recovery of three reportedly hijacked and stolen motor vehicles. Two more people were arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol,” he said.
