The City of Cape Town law officers have apprehended a driver who owes the municipality over R100 000 in outstanding road fines.
During a cleanout operation last weekend, officers stopped a vehicle before the driver climbed off to run on foot. The escapee was caught after running into a vegetation field in Kuils River.

Following the arrest, the man was confirmed to be owing R178 900 in outstanding warrants.
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, also confirmed that the man has remained behind bars after making a court appearance.
